ASSORUP at the Radical Health Festival in Helsinki: a strategic presence to expand the European network and promote the professionalization of RUPs

ASSORUP took part with great interest in the workshop “Advancing Value-Based Healthcare Through Collaboration and Innovation Procurement”, a side event of the Radical Health Festival, one of the main European gatherings dedicated to innovation in the healthcare sector.

The initiative, organized by Health Proc Europe, brought together professionals, policy makers, public buyers and industry representatives to discuss how collaborative approaches and innovation procurement can accelerate the transition towards value-based healthcare models.

The presence of ASSORUP, represented by President Daniele Ricciardi and Board Member Federica Perrotta, is part of the broader process of consolidating the European network of Project Managers (RUPs) and public procurement professionals, with the aim of bringing Italy’s voice into the arenas where the new trajectories of the international procurement community are being defined. The workshop offered a valuable opportunity to engage with advanced experiences, share operational challenges and identify concrete spaces for cross-border collaboration.

Particularly relevant were the contributions dedicated to Value-Based Procurement (VBP), which highlighted how the integration of clinical outcomes, economic sustainability and technological innovation represents a strategic lever for improving the quality of healthcare services. The testimonies of European buyers showed that VBP is not just a theoretical model, but an approach already being implemented in several health systems, with measurable results in terms of efficiency and impact for citizens.

During the event, ASSORUP also promoted the European Questionnaire on the Professionalisation of Public Buyers, an initiative that is receiving a growing number of responses from Italian and European public sector practitioners. Sharing the questionnaire in an international context made it possible to further broaden the pool of participants, strengthening the quality of the sample and the relevance of the data that will be made available to European institutions.

Participation in the Radical Health Festival confirms ASSORUP’s commitment to contributing to the construction of an increasingly cohesive, competent and recognised European professional community. Dialogue with established networks such as Health Proc Europe represents a key step in enhancing the role of RUPs, promoting common standards and supporting the transition towards more innovative, sustainable and value-oriented procurement models.

ASSORUP will continue to be present in international forums where the future of public procurement is discussed, with the goal of placing Italian experience at the centre of the European debate and building new opportunities for collaboration for all professionals in the sector.
